Earth@Peace: Cultural Evening

An evening of poetry, singing, music and performance based on themes from the Earth@Peace 2019 conference. This event is organised in collaboration with the Medical Association for the Prevention of War (MAPW). It commences with the launch of William Kelly’s Just Art exhibition, followed by a reading from Tony Birch. A choir and instrumentalists will join members of ICAN (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons), and there will be poetry readings responding to William Kelly’s artworks. Drinks and nibbles provided.

William Kelly: Just Art Exhibition launch
Artist, pacifist and social activist William Kelly OAM presents drawings, sculptures, prints and a board game, which engage themes of war, peace and justice.
Launched by Emeritus Professor Joseph Camilleri OAM.
the exhibition will run for six weeks from 26th April 2019.

An evening of cooperation and responsiveness in words and music featuring:
- MC: Jenny Grounds, Medical Association for the Prevention of War
- The Brunswick Rogues choir led by Emily Hayes
- Melbourne and Regional Victorian Poets responding to works by peace artist William Kelly
- Harpist Cath Connelly
- Novelist, poet and scholar, Tony Birch
- Tilman Ruff from the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons
