Repair, Reuse, Refashion – Loving the wardrobe you already have

May 21, 2023 @ 11:45 am - 12:45 pm

Australians put 260,000 tonnes of clothing into landfill each year. That’s 10kg per person! Only 7,000 tonnes of textiles are recycled.

Repair is an act of care in a careless fast-fashion industry.
It focuses our mind on placing value on the resources and blessings we already have.

St Michael’s actively supports ecological justice, including providing practical sessions.
Ange Tang holds her first practical workshop focusing on repairing your favourite clothing.
Do you have missing buttons or holes in a favourite jumper?
Bring items needing hand-repair and you can learn appropriate mending techniques to return your favourite clothes to use.
If you have your own sewing kit you are welcome to bring it, otherwise supplies will be provided.

The workshop is open to everyone, regardless of skill level.
Come along, slow down for a relaxing hour and revive an item you love.
