Earth@Peace: Cultural Evening

An evening of poetry, singing, music and performance based on themes from the Earth@Peace 2019 conference. This event is organised in collaboration with the Medical Association for the Prevention of War (MAPW). It commences with the launch of William Kelly’s Just Art exhibition, followed by a reading from Tony Birch. A choir and instrumentalists will join members of ICAN (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons), and there will be poetry readings responding to William Kelly’s artworks. ANZAC Day Organ Recital

    Kate Louise Macfarlane is a coloratura soprano who specializes in Baroque and Modern classical repertoire. After completing a Master of Music degree in Cologne, Germany, Kate sang several world-premiere opera roles at Theater Aachen, in addition to Olympia (Tales of Hoffmann), Serpetta (La Finta Giardiniera), and Taumännchen (Hansel and Gretel). Recent performance highlights include Belinda in Dido and Aeneas for State Opera of SA, and her one woman show La Virtuosissima Cantatrice in the 2018 Cabaret Fringe Festival.…

Mindfulness Meditation

Presenter: Karen Ellis Karen has been running weekly half-hour group sessions in the Chapel at Epworth Richmond Hospital since 2013 open to all. She is currently on staff in the Pastoral Care Department at Epworth in the area of grief and loss. Meditation has been an important part of Karen’s life for 40 years.
