St Michael's eNews Sunday 13 June 2021

It's good news to hear government COVID-19 restrictions are lifting.
We have made the decision to keep the St Michael's Uniting Church building closed this coming Sunday. We hope to see you in church next week.

Remember that while the church building is closed, our hearts remain open.

And so does our online presence.

Gather together, online, this Sunday.

Margaret's Message

Dear St Michaelâ??s People,

Restrictions in Melbourne are lifting. We can now drive 25kms to buy our coffee. Hurray! On a more serious note, news that religious services will be limited to only 50 people means that we will keep the church doors closed for another week. And while there is still community transmission of COVID-19 in Melbourne, we want to do everything possible to keep our community safe. We are hoping that we will see people back in church on
Sunday 20 June and hold our AGM as planned. Fingers crossed.

We do understand fatigue and anxiety are constant companions for some. We encourage our friends to keep reaching out to others. Check in with a friend, neighbour, or someone you know from church. Some people are struggling, and a kind and caring word can make all the difference.

What we are doing is working. Continue to follow the guidelines, get tested (often!) and vaccinated (if thatâ??s an option for you). The small efforts of each one will create a safer community for all.

As New Zealanders say in Maori, â??Kia kaha e hoa.â? Stay strong my friend. And as my American friends say, â??take care.â?

Stay safe and stay kind,

Margaret
