A Message from Margaret

On St Michael's Day in 2022 we celebrate joy in our lives - joy as the pure and simple
delight in being alive, joy in being together again.

Happiness and joy are not exactly the same. While happiness can be dependent on external factors, joy comes from within when we intentionally look for the good and foster loving relationships with other people and with the earth. It is possible to find joy even in times of sadness or suffering.

At St Michael's we recognise that joy isn't something to be possessed or kept for ourselves. Joy buds and flowers when it is shared with others. Join us on Sunday, in person or online, as we 'live joy' and 'give joy' in community with others.

One way we are sharing joy on Sunday is through giving our church offerings and the concert donations to Sikh Volunteers Australia. SVA reduces distress in the community by providing free food to disadvantaged families and to people in crisis (e.g. bushfires, floods, and the public housing COVID lockdowns). Gifts can be made at church via collection boxes or tap and pay devices, or online via our website (noting the donation is for St Michael's Day).

Peace and blessings,

Margaret
