Join us this Sunday at St Michael's as Supply Minister

The Rev Peter Burnham

presides over the service.

 

All are welcome to join us for tea and coffee in the St Michaelâ??s Hall following the service. 


Lunchtime Organ Recital Series

This Thursday, 14 February, Rhys Boak will present the Thursday Lunchtime Organ Recital Series. The organ recital is held from 1.00pm every Thursday (doors open at 12.30pm). Entry is free.

H.O.P.E: Healing Our Planet Earth

Join H.O.P.E on Sunday 10th February in attending the Sustainable Living Festival along the Yarra River.

Be inspired and challenge our ideas of how to live well and more sustainably with a wide range of events and stalls.

Overseas visitors and nationally renowned people will be speaking; from Regenerative Farming & Grand Designs for Zero Emissions to the Economics of Happiness or our Energy Future-(Off the Grid?) or Backyard Food Security with gardening guru Costa. There are many varied stalls, food and products to tempt us as we wander down from Federation Square.

Meet in the foyer at 11-45am after morning tea if you are interested and we will proceed down together.

 St Michaelâ??s Film, Theatre and Concert Group

Our first outing for 2019 will be to the FREE MSO concert at The Sydney Myer Music Bowl which starts at 7.30pm on Wednesday 20th February. 

The programme is entitled A Symphonic Collection and includes A Scottish Fantasy by Bruch and The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Dukas.

The gates open at 4.30 pm, and we will arrange to save seating for our group.

Please bring a rug or small low chair on which to sit and picnic food and drink.

Poetry Group

You are invited to come along to the Poetry Group and enjoy a lively discussion on Bush Poetry

When: Sunday 25 February, 12.00 - 1.00pm

Where: Group Room, 2nd Floor

Three poems have been chosen to discuss:

Said Hanrahan  by bush poet John Oâ??Brien

How McDougal Topped the Score  by Thomas E Spencer

The Man from Ironbark  by Banjo Paterson 

If you have a  favourite poem that you would like to share with the group, please bring it along.

 A.W.E.  Ageing with Expectation

Join Dr Francis Macnab in a friendly, encouraging and positive atmosphere to explore and learn about the upside of ageing, and afterwards enjoy light refreshments and conversation with others.

When: Friday 1 March (1st Friday each month), 1.30 to 3.00pm

Where: Evergreen Centre Balwyn, 45 Talbot Avenue, Balwyn.

Trio Anima Mundi

Trio Anima Mundi will be performing at trio of concerts at St Michaelâ??s Uniting Church.

When: Sunday 24th March, Sunday 23 June & Sunday 23 October, 2:00pm.

Tickets: $45.00 for adults, concession $35.00. 

Three concerts subscription purchase $120.00 for adults and $90.00 for concession. 

However, an early bird discount is available for all three concert subscriptions until the end of February at a cost of $100.00 for adults and $80.00 for concession plus booking fees.

Rev Peter Burnham is available to provide support and Pastoral Care to people from St Michaelâ??s congregation. You can contact via the Church Office to make an appointment. 

St Michaelâ??s is engaging Peter to provide this support, so there will be no cost for anyone who wishes to meet with him.

The members of the Contact and Care Team are available to talk with, or assist people, who are experiencing difficult times. Our name tags have Contact and Care printed in red beneath our names. If you would like to speak with us, you can look for us on a Sunday or contact the office and ask if one of us can get in touch with you. All matters remain confidential.
