â?â?Margaret's message

Victoria has come out of the five day â??circuit breakerâ?? lockdown. Itâ??s fair to say we have
already spent months in the â??desertâ?? away from the world and given up a lot. At the
beginning of Lent, letâ??s be gentle with ourselves. Instead of focusing on what we could â??give up for Lent,â?? letâ??s consider what we can â??take up for Lentâ?? that will enhance personal, social and environmental well-being.

Giving up chocolate wonâ??t change the world. Time spent in contemplation on what really matters just might. Small steps taken by ordinary people (taking time to nurture friendships, joining with others to clean up a park or beach, creating a safe neighbourhood by encouraging community events) can make a big difference. Iâ??m thankful that at
St Michaelâ??s we participate in a community where we connect with one another, and
reflect on meaning and mystery. For some that community is Online, and for those who would like to gather in church on Sunday, the doors will be open again!

Peace and blessings
Margaret

Vale - Bernice Creek

We have learned this week that Bernice Creek passed away on 11 February 2021 at the age of 101.
Bernice and her late husband, Norman, became Members of St Michaelâ??s in 1986 and were very active for many years, attending church services and being volunteer Tour Guides for the Week Day Tour Program.
They made many friends at St Michaelâ??s and enjoyed social times together. Some of Berniceâ??s friends have continued to keep in touch with her up until recent times.

Bernice enjoyed living at Hansworth Aged Care in Mulgrave and was well until her passing on 11 February.
We have sent a card of condolence and our good memories of Bernice, to her family.
