Music in church: Dr Kim Tan (Flute) & Rhys Boak (Organ & Piano) Music Online: Dr Elyane Laussade (Piano), The Nuovo Quartet led by Susannah Ng & Rhys Boak (Organ)
On Easter Sunday we gathered and welcomed people, online and in church. We told the sacred stories, and we broke the bread of belonging. We were the church. In person and online, words of welcome have a significance that we could not have imagined a year ago. Welcome to those who have been coming back since the lockdown lifted. Welcome to those who were back for the first time. Welcome to the ones we cannot see who join us online. Welcome to people who found us online during COVID and have come to join us at the church. With tears of Easter joy, welcome!
Christ is risen! Christ is risen in people who join with the sacred source of life and love and justice. In Jesus’s friends. In all the people down the ages who have gathered together, told the stories and broken the bread. And in us. Resurrection is not Jesus resuscitated. Resurrection is the spirit of Jesus present in this community sharing love and doing justice. Alleluia!
Peace and Blessings, Margaret
