Vale

We saddened to learn of the passing of two wonderful St Michael's members,
Judith Pickup and Jenny Cheng.

Judith Pickup

Judith passed away on Wednesday, 30 October.

Judith became a Member of St Michael’s in 1988. In her early days at St Michael’s, she participated in various discussion groups, carried the Staff and assisted with the
choir on many occasions. In recent years she has regularly participated in the
online services.
At Judith’s request her family will gather
together, to celebrate her life.

Jennifer (Jenny) Cheng

Jenny passed on Sunday, 3 November.

Jenny was living a busy life as a wife, mother, and schoolteacher when she
suffered a stroke. As she dedicated herself to recovery, she discovered there were no support groups for survivors. Together with her husband Peter, she founded
the Boroondara Stroke Support group in 2002
.
Today, the group still supports many people through its activities and wellbeing
programs. Jenny received a St Michael’s Medallion in 2007 for her work with stroke survivors and became a member of
St Michael’s in 2009.
A service of thanksgiving for Jenny’s life will be held at St Michael’s on Saturday,
9 November,
at 3pm.

‍Volunteering at St Michael's

Volunteers are vital to the vibrant life and mission of St Michael’s.

If you are interested in volunteering you can leave their details via the sign-up sheet on the table in the eastern colonnade or contact the church office.

All volunteers need a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to comply with Victoria's Child Safe Standards and Uniting Church policies. If you need help

organising a WWCC, the office is available to provide support with the process.
