About President Rev Sharon Hollis:
Rev Sharon Hollis is the 16th President of the Uniting Church in Australia, and along with the General Secretary, offers leadership to the Assembly, the national council of the Church.
Sharon was ordained as a Minister of the Word in the Uniting Church in 1994. She has served as minister in two congregations in the Eastern suburbs of Naarm (Melbourne), as Continuing Education Coordinator, as Resource Minister in the Culture of Safety Unit, all in the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania. She was Moderator of the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania from 2016-19. Sharon has been a member of numerous Synod and Assembly committees including Church Polity Working Group, the Baptist-Uniting Church dialogue and the Salvation Army-Uniting Church dialogue.
Sharon is a Fellow and Council member at Queen’s College, University of Melbourne Sharon is a member of Wesley, Lonsdale St, Uniting Church in Melbourne’s CBD. The theme Sharon has chosen for her three years as President is “Dwelling in Love” and reflects her belief that we are held constantly in God’s love and this gives us the courage and grace to enable us to face the challenges of Church and world in ways that are both loving and transformational.
